    Position DetailsPosition Information Job Title CCE Materials Lab Assistant Appointment Type Student Employee Job Location Corvallis Position Appointment Percent 100 Appointment Basis 12 Pay Method Hourly Pay Period 16th - 15th of the following month Pay Date Last working day of the month Remote or Hybrid option?Min Hourly Rate $14.20 (Standard); $13.20 (Non-Urban); $15.45 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $21.00 (Standard); $18.50 (Non-Urban); $21.50 (Portland Metro) Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill five part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) CCE Materials Lab Assistant positions for the School of Civil & Construction Engineering at Oregon State University (OSU).The CCE materials lab is seeking students to work in the infrastructure materials lab.

    Position Duties 100% Duties may include, but are not limited to:
    Work in the infrastructure materials labs in the preparation, instrumentation, testing and cleanup of the testing of concrete.
    Work in a semi-open environment subject to colder temperatures during the winter, warm and humid conditions in the summer.
    Work near, but at a safe distance, from dusty and noisy tools, forklifts, overhead cranes, and other vehicles.

    Use all manner of common wood and metal shop tools, such as wrenches, screwdrivers, measuring tapes, bolts, hammers, and data collection systems to address project goals.

    Must be able to lift 25 kg.
    Complete safety training. Protection gear is necessary and provided by the Laboratory.
    May require sitting or standing for longer periods of time.

    Additional Required Qualifications Experience working with hand tools.
    Must be able to lift 25 kg.
    Safety training and protection gear is necessary and provided by the Laboratory. Preferred (Special)

    Qualifications Preference for a CCE student.
    Prefer sophomore, junior, or senior status.
