Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking to hire Pack Life Ambassadors (PLAs) to work closely with the RLHFS Marketing and Outreach Coordinator to provide residence hall tours and promote living on campus. Pack Life Ambassadors (PLAs) will provide support for the Nevada Bound Tour days:

Responsibilities

• Engage with future/current residents to answer questions

• Lead NV Bound Housing Tours

• Promote the residential life experience

• Assist in creating a sustainable, strong community on campus

• Execute tours, tabling events, and assist with any other programming initiatives that the Department of Residential Life, Housing, and Food Services will have

Required Qualifications

• Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno

• Candidate must currently live on campus or have lived on campu

• 2.5 cumulative and semester GPA, as well as remain in good standing with the University of Nevada, Reno

Preferred Qualifications:

• A positive attitude regarding living on campus, interacting with the UNR community, etc.

• Excellent customer service skills

• Ability to problem solve and work independently as well as on a team

• Strong public speaking skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication

Schedule

Scheduling regarding tours and other events will be shared readily during interview cycles and upon on-boarding.

Fall Dates: Wednesday and Fridays from 12:30 pm to 3 pm. Additional dates and times may be scheduled to assist with Marketing and Outreach efforts.

Fall Training: August 29, 2026

Winter Training: January 23, 2027

Compensation Grade

Staff can expect to receive $20 dollars in food bucks per hour of completed work. Payment is given via a monthly stipend (September – December, February – May)
