    An innovative membrane technology company based in Boston whose ultrafiltration and microfiltration membranes and modules excel in applications such as produced water, oily wastewater, heavy metal removal, emergency water, caustic cleaner recovery, and acid filtration.

    They are seeking an experienced engineer to assist in continued growth in their operations.

    This position is responsible for supporting application work, managing projects, making technical decisions to optimize process, management of pilot equipment and work, supporting/executing commissioning, and start-up of equipment.

    This may include organizing test plans and/or managing the assembly or fabrication of the equipment. This role includes participation in determining operational parameters and analysis of appropriate data. The position requires a combination of hands-on technical expertise with engineering design expertise. The ideal candidate shall a proven track record of leading engineering designs during both the proposal and execution side.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


    Perform mechanical, electrical, and process design of membrane-based systems, ensuring design quality, while meeting proposal or project schedule, budget, and customers' expectations.

    Perform required calculations needed to specify equipment, including (but not limited to) general hydraulics, chemical feed systems, vessels/tanks, pumps, filters, blowers, compressed air systems, piping systems, valves, and instrumentation.

    Basic understanding of programming and electrical engineering is a plus.

    Provide technical support to activities involved in the specification, procurement, fabrication, installation and operation of specified project related equipment and designs.

    Ensure that all engineering designs, bills of material and technical data are completely and accurately documented.

    Coordinate activities concerned with process, electrical, and mechanical design reviews; project issue (scheduling and technical) resolution related to design, construction, and start-up.

    Delegate, coordinate, and support junior engineers and contractors in project execution activities.
    Execute and/or support commissioning and start-up of new equipment engineered.
    Conduct operation, maintenance, and modification of field and in-house pilot units.
    Provide troubleshooting and inspecting existing equipment.
    Conduct on-site training with operating, maintenance, and management personnel.
    Prepare manuals, performance reports, and maintain/establish engineering standards.
    Lead the writing of membrane filtration control philosophies and narratives.
    25% or less travel is required.
    Hybrid role, with 2 days in the office per week expected.

    GENERAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    Bachelor's degree preferred.
    Minimum 5 years of experience required.
    Mechanical background required.
    Electrical experience preferred.
