    ROLE OVERVIEW:

    Typical schedule is Monday - Friday 6:00PM - 6:00 AM with frequent Saturday work. Hours may vary depending on weather and customer demand.

    DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)

    • Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
    • Excavating and breaking hard rock for aggregate production.
    • Efficiently transferring excavated material to trucks or conveyers.
    • Stabilizing mining slopes to ensure safety and prevent collapses.
    • Compact excavator for precise digging in confined spaces.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)

    • Safety first attitude required
    • Previous experience operating CAT k lbs.) Hydraulic Excavator
    • Previous experience working at aggregate plants or mines
    • Able to provide and maintain the proper licensure and driving record
    • Ability to pass a criminal background and pre-employment drug screen

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (types and extent of knowledge, skills or abilities an incumbent must possess to complete the job responsibilities satisfactorily)

    • Knowledge of plant operation, conveyor systems, and maintenance.
    • Must have good mechanical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
    • Need positive attitude and the ability to work well with others and follow directions.
    • Equipment operation skills helpful.

    PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

    • Extensive walking on uneven surfaces.
    • Lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
    • Exposure to dust, fumes, odors.
    • Hand eye coordination.
    • Exposure to mists, adhesives, acids.
    • Frequent and/or extended periods requiring kneeling, bending, and/or twisting.
    • Operating equipment at night under artificial lighting.
    • Working in all weather conditions for extended period of time
