    MIKEL is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to be part of our SANS team.


    The Electrical Engineer will work as a member of the SANS team to support development, testing and implementing hardware/software systems.

    In this fast-paced setting, the candidate will be exposed to all aspects of the life cycle, system requirements development, design, implement, test, and maintenance as well as hands-on involvement with real hardware.

    This position is open to entry level and experienced professionals.

    Responsibilities
    Perform design, analysis and verification testing of hardware/software systems as required
    Work closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system
    Support and participate in all phases of the hardware/software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test
    Develop test procedures and related test report documentation
    Utilize modeling tools and equipment to acquire operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results
    Participate in peer reviews, identify, track and repair defects
    Utilize a variety of software languages, including VHDL, MATLAB and C/C++
    Familiarity with Linux highly preferred
    Support process improvements to aid in team coordination and maintain delivery schedule
    Communicate with leadership on status, issues, milestones, and successes
    Must be capable of working with a minimum of supervision
    Able to work simultaneously on a variety of projects

    Qualifications
    BS in Electrical Engineering with a GPA of 3.0+ from an accredited state university or equivalent institution is required.
    MS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university is preferred
    7-10 years of experience
    Proficient in MATLAB and C/C++ is highly preferred
    Familiarity with signal processing is highly preferred
    Good analytical skills
    Strong written and verbal communications skills
    Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
    Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
    Ability and desire to learn new skills.

    Travel
    Ability to support out-of-state/country field testing, including at-sea, is required
    Travel may be frequent at times; typical duration is up-to 1 week; averaging 10% per year

    Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
