    What is my day to day like? As an intern with our Plant Safety Team, your day-to-day will assist in playing a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of employees, protecting the environment, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations. This is an excellent opportunity to gain real-world learning experience in EHS and gain exposure to various aspects of safety management. Your day to day will focus on but not be limited to:
    • Performing Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's) and PPE Hazard Assessments.
    • Partnering with the EHS Manager to review, update, and develop written programs, policies, and procedures for safety adherence.
    • Work on emergency preparedness planning and assist in conducting annual emergency evacuation drills.
    • Conduct weekly Safety Assessments.
    • Participate in incident investigations and work with team members to implement corrective and preventative actions.
    • Provide crucial administrative support by entering safety work orders, updating visual safety boards, organizing safety celebrations, and inspecting eyewash & first aid stations.
    • Assist the EHS Manager with providing training and coaching.
    • Assist in the tracking of key performance indicators and deliverables to provide direction and support to the site.
    • Support the EHS Manager with additional duties as required.
    What makes a person successful in this position.
    • College student seeking degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or similar discipline.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Programs including, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, & Outlook
    • Highly collaborative, effective problem-solving skills, and excellent communication skills.
    • Demonstrates competency in researching and applying EHS compliance regulations to site operations.
    • Enthusiastic about working in an office, manufacturing, and warehouse environment.
    What will my schedule be like?

    During the course of the Summer Internship Program you will work onsite M-F up to 40 hours a week. A typical day can be 8:00am-5:00pm with an hour for lunch.
