    Stratom is seeking a versatile individual with professional experience in systems engineering for robotic and autonomous vehicle applications.

    You will be a major contributor to our unmanned vehicle and autonomous robotic arm projects, which require a diverse set of engineering expertise.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Provide comprehensive design, development, analysis, and evaluation expertise for all aspects of systems throughout their lifecycle.
    Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to integrate hardware and software components into cohesive robotic systems.

    Guide robotic system development with a fundamental understanding of how and why the components of a system work together to achieve an operational goal.

    Conduct feasibility studies and simulations to evaluate system performance, reliability, and safety under various operating conditions.
    Understand overarching project, program, and customer objectives. Provide guidance and coordination to achieve overall success.
    Spearhead and/or consult on advanced, diverse technical work across the SE Vee, project lifecycle, and various engineering specialties. Choose, develop, apply, and oversee application of appropriate tools, processes, and standards

    Qualifications

    Qualifications

    A passion for designing complex autonomous systems
    Minimum 5+ years of experience in robotics and/or autonomous vehicle development
    Experience leading hardware architecture design, evaluating sensors and compute systems, and integrating the overall electronic system
    Experience supporting safety activities for automated systems, such as hazard analyses and DFMEAs
    Ability to move quickly from system view to detailed design and back
    Willing and eager to get your hands dirty building and debugging prototype systems
    A relevant Engineering Degree(s), such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, etc. Advanced degrees are a plus
    Ability to Travel up to 20% over the year, and up to 50% in short surges
    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience working through (and driving) an entire product development cycle of a custom HW design - you've shipped a product
    Understanding of how robotic algorithms for motion planning, optimization, sensor fusion, motion control, etc. work
    Familiarity with relevant safety standards, such as MIL-STD-882, IEC 61508, ISO 13849, etc.
    Experience with ROS or ROS2
    Proficient in writing quality object-oriented code in C++, using a git-based workflow in a Linux environment

    As a technical lead, proficiency leading small technical teams, reviewing the technical adequacy of work products, meeting cost and schedule.

    Additional Requirements

    This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

    Non-U.S. persons selected must meet eligibility requirements for access to export-restricted information. The ITAR/EAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.


    While a DoD Security Clearance is not required when starting at Stratom, we require our employees maintain their eligibility to obtain one.
