    ABOUT THE ROLE

    Solitaire Homes, a leading regional builder of manufactured homes, is looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead all purchasing functions at their Duncan, OK facility. Solitaire Homes was recently acquired by Cavco Industries, Inc., a nationwide builder of manufactured homes, with more than 8,000 employees.

    The purchasing manager and team members ensure production materials, supplies, services, and equipment are sourced at the best values while maintaining quality standards and timely deliveries. They also ensure that all purchases are conducted within the scope of company standards and applicable rules or laws. The purchasing manager is responsible for the selection of building materials and the maintenance of relationships with suppliers to optimize the cost, quality, and reliability of the supply chain.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Collaborate with business unit leaders to develop requirements for materials, supplies, services and equipment
    • Negotiate with vendors regarding price, quantity, availability, and delivery schedules
    • Research and analyze market prices, material availability, and delivery conditions to predict current and future material pricing and availability
    • Determine methods of procurement, review bid proposals, and negotiate agreements
    • Prepare purchase orders or bid requests from sales team and plant leadership, match deliveries from suppliers with purchase orders, and approve invoices for payment
    • Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories
    • Resolve procurement issues with vendors, including issues arising from incorrect pricing, defective or unacceptable goods or services, delivered quantities, etc.
    • Manage internal and external audit requests
    • Meet daily production requirements while controlling inventory levels within budgetary limitations
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelors degree preferred
    • 5+ years of purchasing experience preferred (accounting experience will be considered as an alternative)
    • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
