RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Rockville, MD that is seeking a Software Engineer III with strong technical expertise and a proven track record of stability and ownership.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain software solutions for instrument control and automation
Write clean, reliable, and maintainable Java code
Work in Linux-based environments to support embedded and system-level applications
Collaborate with hardware, automation, and engineering teams
Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing systems
Take ownership of software components from design through deployment
Follow best practices for software quality, testing, and documentation
REQUIREMENTS:
Strong experience with Java (Java for instrument control strongly preferred)
Solid experience working in Linux environments
Hands-on experience with Raspberry Pi or similar embedded systems
Experience with EvoWare and/or Hamilton automation platforms (or equivalent)
Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skills
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role.
Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs.
This range may be modified in the future.We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.

Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable.
