    Fountain Valley School, a selective and diverse boarding school, educates 250 students in grades 9–12 on a beautiful 1,100-acre campus in Colorado Springs, CO. Founded in 1930, the School provides a rigorous, global curriculum in academics, arts, athletics and the outdoors.

    The Opportunity:

    The Director of Admissions and Financial Aid will demonstrate creativity, collegiality, a welcoming demeanor, and a high level of energy in order to manage the admissions and financial aid process at Fountain Valley School. A genuine interest in promoting the school to prospective student families, educational consultants, placement directors and a high level of professionalism, are essential qualities. The ability to articulate the distinct attributes of boarding school education is paramount and an understanding of the ethos of Fountain Valley School is critical. The Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, works to create a collaborative and coordinated all-school effort to attract, enroll, and retain a mission-appropriate, diverse, and inclusive student community.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Providing leadership in admission, and recruitment and overseeing the process of attracting, selecting and enrolling students.
    • Working closely with the Director of Athletics to cultivate interest-based markets that leverage our strength in western, mountain, and other sports.
    • Managing the forward-facing aspects of the admissions process, overseeing the financial aid process, and serving as the PDSO for the SEVIS process.
    • Leading an admission staff of three admission counselors in a manner which will maximize their individual talents and encourage their professional growth.
    • Traveling domestically and internationally as needed in support of enrollment and advancement efforts.
    • Living on campus and participating in the responsibilities of school activities as time and the travel schedule reasonably allow.
    • Overseeing revisit days and remote admission information sessions.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • A minimum of five years of admission and financial aid leadership experience.
    • A strong commitment to boarding school life.
    • Outstanding communication skills, both written and spoken.
    • Experience with financial aid—both need-based and merit-based.
    • Warmth and a sense of humor as well as high energy, flexibility, and a collaborative style.
    • Experience working with students and adults in an independent boarding/day school environment required.
    • Commitment to customer service.
    • Team player with a strong capacity for initiative.
    • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.

    Working Conditions:

    • Environment: Office working with prospective high school students.
    • Physical Demands: Able to sit, stand and lift to 30 lbs. for eight hours per day, occasional weekend and/or weeknight obligations.
    • Working Relationships: Students, parents, admission personnel, and all other FVS employees.

    Salary: $65,000 to $85,000, depending on experience and education
