    Overview


    The therapist adheres to the highest standards of evidence-based medical and behavioral health practice, ethics, and professionalism at all times as a member of a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive behavioral health care integrated with medical care. The therapist provides evidence-based therapies to adults and adolescents, and/or families with DSM to improve mental health and wellness for patients in group and individual settings. The therapist will be versed in assessments, diagnosis treatment and care coordination when appropriate within a therapeutic frame.

    Responsibilities


    Essential Functions:

    • Establishes positive, trusting rapport with patients.
    • Complete initial assessments for therapy and treatment recommendations for adults and adolescents with diagnosis in the DSM.
    • Diagnoses mental health disorders according to DSM criteria and treat according to evidence-based recommendations.
    • Creates individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances.
    • Meets with patients regularly to provide counseling, treatment and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
    • Conducts ongoing assessments of patient progress.
    • Involves and advises family members when appropriate.
    • Communicate effectively with other members of the care team across all disciplines when appropriate to coordinate care. Serve as a therapeutic consultant to other specialties across programs.
    • Identify at risk patients appropriately in crisis situations and apply appropriate interventions.
    • Refers patients to outside specialists or agencies when necessary.
    • Maintains thorough records of patient meetings and progress.
    • Follows all safety protocols and maintains client confidentiality.
    • Contributes to practice by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
    • Actively participate in meetings that support Community health care centers to provide comprehensive care for patients
    • Provide assessment, diagnosis according to DSM-V consultation, and brief intervention for psychological/psychiatric problems and/or disorders.
    • Cross train in other credential specific functions to learn the other jobs and potentially cover when appropriate and needed (i.e. BHC, A-BHC, Crisis Counselor etc)
    • Stay current on standards of care in the field and participate in CME to increase skill set and knowledge base.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications


    Master's degree or doctorate in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or related field required.

    Experience:

    Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field

    Current with all state licensing requirements, including LCSW, LMHC and LMFT or Psychologist

    Three years' clinical experience

    LMHC or LCSW or LMFT with supervisor certification or willingness to get the certification prior to starting supervisor job or Psychologist already willing to supervise.

    Certification:

    Basic Life Support certification required.

    Licensure:

    Current and valid State of Florida License in Mental Health Counseling or Licensed Clinical Social Worker license required or Licensed clinical psychologist.

    Valid Florida Driver's license required.
