    Closing Date: 4/30/2024 11:59 PM CentralPosition Description This position performs a variety of skilled work installing, operating, trouble-shooting, maintaining, and repairing three-phase and other industrial electrical equipment and systems.

    Work involves travel to various locations, risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working on motors up to 3000 horsepower and systems up to 4160 volts, working under extreme outdoor weather conditions, working around moving parts, carts, or machines, etc.

    Work requires some physical exertion such as walking, climbing, bending, stooping, stretching, or similar activities.

    Employees at Metro Water Services (MWS) work around the clock to supply, treat, manage, and protect our water resources in a sustainable manner for the benefit of all who live, work, and play in our community.

    Our dedicated, diverse workforce provides high quality drinking water and the best in wastewater treatment, storm water management, and waste collection services for our customers in the Nashville-Davidson County area.

    Our employees work together to service more than 210,000 water and 216,000 sewer accounts along with over 150,000 curbside waste collection customers.

    *Applications accepted until positions are filled.* "If you have applied for this position in the past six-months, you do not need to reapply."Typical Duties Repairs, installs, maintains, tests/trouble-shoots and services electrical equipment at water and sewer pumping stations.

    Reads and correctly interprets diagrams, blueprints, and equipment specifications.
    Uses electrical testing equipment to assist with determining proper course of action.
    Maintains logs of all repair and maintenance activities.
    Inspects completed jobs for quality assurance.
    Obtains permits for electrical repairs from Codes Administration.
    Prepares necessary material lists in order to perform electrical installation and maintenance.
    May resolve and/or troubleshoot complex problems pertaining to equipment usage.
    Ensures safety of self, other employees, and property.
    Maintains personal tools and equipment to established safety standards.
    Observes all safety procedures used by subordinate employees and makes corrections as needed.
    Assists Industrial Mechanics in pulling equipment for repair and performing emergency equipment maintenance. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma and three (3) years experience maintaining and repairing industrial electrical equipment and systems.

    ORAssociate's Degree in Electrical Technology from an accredited college or university and one (1) year experience maintaining and repairing industrial electrical equipment and systems.
