    ABOUT THIS ROLESt. Michaels is hiring to fill a Senior Contract Specialist position to support a Department of Defense client.

    As the Senior Contract Specialist, you will prepare and review pre-award and post-award documents, analyze cost and price factors, for the Resource Management Section.

    You will be in a client-facing role that will benefit from your ability to operate efficiently.

    LOCATIONREQUIREMENTS7 years of experience performing pre- and post-award acquisition-related functions in support of the federal government.

    Level III DAWIA Certification in the Contracting Career Field, or FAC-C Level III.24 semester hours in accounting, law, business, finance, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.

    Proficiency and at least 2 years of experience working in the Standard Procurement System (SPS)/Procurement Desktop Defense (PD2) database.
    Expert knowledge in pre-award source selection evaluations for all contract types.
    Expert knowledge administering cost reimbursable contracts and task orders.
    Knowledge of the acquisition life cycle.

    Bachelor's degree in any fieldActive Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibilityPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESPreparation and review of pre-award and post-award documents, analysis of cost and price factors, performance of procurement procedures applicable to simple and complex procurements, advising requiring activities on processes related to inspection and acceptation of goods and services, and coordinating the receipt of invoices with the Resource Management Section.

    Interpretation of solicitation provisions and contract clauses for vendors and Government officials.
    Assisting the Contracting Officer with performing contract closeout functions for Firm Fixed Price and Cost Reimbursable contracts.

    Duties include interfacing with Program Office and Budget Office to verify that deliverables have been received by the Government and all funds have been expended, initiating applicable contract modification documents, drafting documentation, and preparing the closeout file for the Contracting Officers review and approval.

    Providing professional advice and recommendations to decision makers and approval authorities.
    Performing contract administration and coordinating performance measurement with the requiring activity.
