    Description
    Job Responsibilities

    The faculty member reports directly to the Department Head.

    The primary responsibilities of the faculty member are to teach courses by providing systematically planned and delivered instruction; to design and develop curriculum, evaluate student performance, and advise students in the area of baking and pastry.

    Minimum and Additional Requirements

    This position requires an associate degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a closely related field and four (4) years of related program experience.

    The preferred candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a closely related field and two (2) years of related program experience or a master's degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field and program experience.

    Certification through the American Culinary Federation (ACF) is also highly preferred.
    Preferred Qualifications

    Preferred candidate will possess credentials appropriate for teaching assignment to include specialization in cake decorating, wedding cakes and specialty cake assembly.

    Ideal candidate will also possess technical skills in all types of baking and pastry production including, but not limited to, basic baking techniques, laminated doughs, chocolate and/or sugar work, plated desserts, high end pastries, and regional and international pastries as well as hotel or retail baking experience.

    Must have an aptitude for computers and be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology.

    Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are essential.
