    Working with plant management team at all levels within the organization to support the four Johns Manville core values: People, Passion, Performance, and Protection. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

    Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company commitments, policies, and compliance requirements. Work in a safe manner and look out for your co-workers. Empties ash trays, waste baskets, and other receptacles, hauls waste and disposes of waste in specified manner. Refills paper towel dispensers, soap dispensers and tissue paper dispensers as well as install new ones occasionally. Cleans wash basin and drinking fountains, eye washstands. Washes and cleans walls, ceilings, doors, windows. Painting experience required. Various items, guard rails, columns, doors, walls Pressure washing experience preferred. Basic carpentry skills preferred. Small jobs Cleans and sweeps plant entrance and access areas. Operates power sweeper and scrubber to clean aisles in the warehouse and other plant areas. Uses safe working practices and always reports hazardous conditions. Always keeps equipment and work area clean and neat. Performs various other duties as directed. Take breaks in a timely manner. The duties above are frequently performed with very little supervision and access to plant offices at night is necessary. This job requires a person of honesty and integrity. Uses safe work practices and reports hazardous conditions. Wear proper PPE.

    Qualifications:

  • Must be able to stand and walk continuously as well as reach at all levels and lift up to approx. 20lbs. Occasional lifting of up to approx. 40lbs is required.
  • Must be able to use broom, mop, misc. cleaning supplies including cleansers, rags, vacuum cleaner, buckets, gloves, and all required PPE
  • Good vision, hearing, speaking, and finger dexterity skills are required as well as the ability to perform close work. Work Environment This job is in an industrial, manufacturing environment. The environment is not climate controlled and employees must be able to work in environments that may be extremely hot and humid or cold depending upon the operation and the season. Walking surfaces can be wet, dusty, and uneven. Areas of the building where work must be done have high noise levels, vibration, and/or fumes. Some working areas contain the presence of airborne particles which can irritate the skin or eyes. The manufacturing process involves toxic or caustic chemicals. Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment which includes steel toed shoes, ear protection, eye protection and in certain areas may be required to where dust masks, respirators, gloves or head protection.
