    Wordpress Division Overview:

    The Justice Information Technology Services Division (JITSD) serves the Montana Department of Justice (DOJ) Attorney General and provides vital Information Technology (IT) infrastructure upon which Montanans and local and state law enforcement agencies rely for timely, accurate information.

    JITSD manages the IT systems, services, and interfaces to support approximately 900 DOJ employees, 325 statewide county motor vehicle system users, and over 3,000 Criminal Justice Information Network (CJIN) users across the state.

    JITSDs work directly supports the citizens of Montana and the DOJ staff who are involved in legal cases involving the State and its people to include missing persons, victim services, childrens justice, consumer protection, criminal investigations, highway safety, motor vehicle operations, gambling control, criminal history information, and forensic laboratory services.

    Job Overview :
    *This position may be eligible for a $1.50 statutory increase on 7/1/2024.Website designing, building, maintaining, and administration.
    Train editors on how to edit their content.
    Managing plugins and licensing requirements.
    Using scripting or authoring languages, management tools, content creation tools, applications, and digital media.
    Conferring with teams to resolve conflicts, prioritize needs, develop content criteria, or choose solutions.
    Directing or performing Website core and plugin updates.
    Editing, writing, or designing Website content, and consulting/conferring with team members who produce content.
    Maintaining an understanding of the latest Web applications and programming practices, tools, and security practices.
    Back up websites and databases as applicable from external and internally hosted sites and ensure availability for rapid recovery.
    Identifying issues identified by customer testing and correcting or referring problems to appropriate personnel for correction.
    Determining user needs by analyzing technical requirements.


    Minimum Qualifications:
    Four years of education in an Information Technology-related field.
    Four years of experience with software programming and software modification.
    Other combinations of education or experience may be substituted.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    Experience in Web development or related field, or relevant experience.
    Solid knowledge and experience in web development frameworks (preferable WordPress) and other web based applications.
    Able to work well as part of a team and individually.
    Solid ability in both written and verbal communication.
    Knowledge of programming language and technical terminology.
    Able to develop ideas and processes and clearly express them.
    High degree of independent judgment.
    Able to solve complex problems.
