    Salary – L ($85,563.65 – $115, DOE

    Position Summary


    The Budget Analyst position reports directly to the Director of Finance and will assimilate into stepping in as backup to the Director in their absence.

    The Budget Analyst will be responsible for budget development, budget analysis, budget execution and project analysis. This position will become the back up of all departmental tasks (ie A/P, A/R, Invoicing, Taxes, etc.)

    Responsibilities


    Departmental:

    • Training in all aspects of finance department and assisting with strengthening policies and procedures.
    • Covering each departmental position during times of absence.
    • Assist with finance department employee training when needed.
    • All tasks as assigned by the Finance Director.

    Budget:

    • Responsible for budget development, budget analysis, and budget execution.
    • Responsible for review and analysis involved in the formulation, presentation, and execution of each operating budget and budget management plan.
    • Communicating with Department Heads on all budget preparation and adjustments.
    • Prepare and oversee the recurring reports of obligations and expenditures for Finance Director and Department Heads.
    • Review and communicate any recommended changes to Chart of Accounts to the Finance Director.

    Projects & Funds:

    • Project analysis for one of a kind tasks as assigned by the Finance Director.
    • Responsible for monitoring appropriated funds, tracking costs, and providing reports to management on the status of funds.
    • Oversees purchasing activities and contracts to ensure purchases and financial commitments are in compliance with procurement rules and regulations.
    • Recommend reprogramming actions for emergencies and other actions which cause shortfalls. Prepares justifications and requests for supplemental funding and technical appeals.

    Compliance:

    • Responsible for compliance with appropriate statutes, regulations, guidelines, policies, and internal controls.
    • Audit preparation and assistance on fund balances, expenditures, transfers and allocation of funds for end of year reporting activities within appropriate deadline.
    • Recommends and prepares both inter-fund and intra-fund adjustments and actions.
    Education and Experience

    Bachelor degree is required in business or finance. Masters degree in business or public administration is preferred. Strong oral and written communication. High proficiency in Microsoft programs, specifically Excel and other office programs. This position will require a high attention to detail and multi-tasking.
