    Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center located in beautiful Northeast Florida is actively seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our distinguished cancer medicine faculty.

    The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct patient care in the outpatient setting for patients with a history of breast cancer or who have an increased risk of developing breast cancer.

    The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will provide health care services autonomously while under the general supervision of a physician.

    Provide direct patient care to new and existing patients in the outpatient setting for patients with a history of breast cancer or who have an increased risk of developing breast cancer in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team including breast surgery, medical oncology, radiology, plastic surgery, radiation oncology, genetic counselors, patient navigation and other members of the multidisciplinary team.


    • Determine the true risk percentage of developing breast cancer and design an individualized imaging screening and prevention plan of care that includes risk reduction strategies within national guidelines for patients with a potential increased risk of developing breast cancer.
    • Perform a thorough clinical breast exam and manage benign breast issues with the support of the breast surgery team as appropriate.
    • Collaborate with the patient's primary oncologist and patient/family to provide a comprehensive care summary and follow-up plan (Survivorship Care Plan) for patients with a history of breast cancer.
    • Use systematically developed evidence-based clinical practice guidelines, assessment tools, and screening instruments to help identify and manage late effects of breast cancer and its treatment.
    • Deliver long term follow up care to patients who have completed treatment for breast cancer and evaluates patient for long term effects of treatment and ongoing wellness
    • Update primary oncology physician when acute changes in patient condition warrant immediate physician intervention.
    • Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities, participate in committees including NAPBC and survivorship committees, and create and use patient education resources appropriately.
    • Engage in the community with educational events and internal events on occasion.
