    Job Description

    Forensic Structural Engineers play a key role in various tasks, such as investigating residential, commercial, and mixed-use buildings, reviewing building codes, analyzing failures, preparing repair plans, and writing reports. These tasks are typically related to insurance claims and construction disputes. Senior Forensic Engineers have a strong client base and excel in business development.

    Role Overview:

    • Conduct forensic field inspections to determine the cause of incidents in residential and commercial properties
    • Assess existing structures for potential buyers, sellers, or tenants
    • Inspect construction sites to prevent future claims
    • Identify building failures and determine the root cause
    • Create detailed remediation plans
    • Prepare expert investigative reports for management and clients
    • Engage in business development activities and client interactions
    • Provide expert witness testimony for legal cases
    • Mentor junior engineers
    • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
    • Perform tasks with technical proficiency and professionalism

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Structural emphasis)
    • Minimum 4 years of experience in forensic inspections
    • PE or SE license required
    • Business development skills with an established client base
    • Familiarity with building codes and structural components
    • Proficiency in MS Office and MathCAD
    • Strong communication skills in English
    • Physical ability to handle fieldwork
