    Quality Control Specialist at Foster Farms

    • Work under FSQA management guidance to ensure compliance with Foster Farms, FSIS/USDA, and customer requirements.
    • Monitor the production process and conduct routine Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) checks following the food safety and quality programs at the manufacturing site. Ensure that the process is controlled and that the product aligns with the company's standards.
    • Guarantee adherence to Food Safety systems by monitoring processes and documentation.
    • Ensure compliance with QA process controls through monitoring and documentation.
    • Verify that food safety documentation aligns with legal/regulatory standards.
    • Manage product disposition, encompassing inventory control and appropriate reconditioning procedures.
    • Inspect equipment pre-operatively to validate sanitation practices.
    • Collaborate with production/maintenance personnel/supervision to resolve quality issues.
    • Communicate with USDA personnel to address regulatory matters.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.
    • Essential requirements include clear communication skills in English (written and verbal), a high school diploma or equivalent (GED), computer proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook, organizational skills, legible handwriting, and the ability to prioritize tasks meeting specified deadlines.
    • Must be capable of placing non-conforming products or equipment on hold and have an excellent employment and attendance record.
    • Flexible availability for varying shifts, weekends, and holidays, as well as readiness to rotate within different departments with varying QC-related responsibilities.
    • Physical capabilities include prolonged standing on concrete/metal grate floors, working in cold environments (down to 40 degrees) or hot environments (up to 100 degrees in an RTE plant), lifting weights ranging from 5 to 70 lbs. daily based on the assigned department, and proficiency in mathematics for computing checks against established limits.
