    The Brand Manager is responsible for managing assigned private brands within Staples Brands Group, and continuously refining the strategy of the brands to best meet customer needs.

    Within the assigned brands, this role will work to create compelling and differentiated products, designing and executing programs to support the brand growth, and continuously scanning the competitive landscape for new opportunities.

    You will work with business teams to research our customers, shape opportunities, and deliver a product brand experience they cannot get anywhere else, ensuring all facets of the brands product portfolio are operating effectively and growing for the assigned brands.


    What youll be doing:


    As the leader of Brand Strategy, you will:Bring an expert-level fluency across strategic planning functions including brand strategy, creative strategy, product marketing, innovation, content strategy, and digital strategy.

    Develop a deep understanding of our brand health, consumer personas, mindsets, attitudes, values and behaviors across our Private Brands audiences and productsIntegrate customer insights and relevant brand trends into our brand strategy and creative outputLead Brand Team interactions with our Creative Team from briefing to deliver on our brand positioningAct as a total business owner to deliver top and bottom-line objectives.


    As the leader of Brand Governance, you will:
    Support the brand architecture and maintain brand standards for assigned brands to deliver brand consistency.

    Support the creative briefing process for all design projects, ensuring that design deliverables meet requirements and objectives of each creative brief.

    Kickoff all creative requests related to product packaging and marketing, attending reviews to ensure creative remains on brand.
    Ensure creative work [product, package, marketing] reflects the design principle and effectively aligns with the brand personality.

    As a key stakeholder in the new product development process, you will:

    Creatively identify opportunity areas for growth by effectively using consumption data, market research and competitive intelligenceProvide input on the brand objectives for all new product development.

    Partner with category management to drive innovation programs by gaining an understanding of category plans and aligning on opportunities.

    Develop meaningful consumer positioning for all new innovation that creates added value versus competitive and effectively communicate product advantages to consumersWhat you bring to the table:
    Experience in building and managing brands.
    Developing new insights; questioning conventional approaches; encouraging new ideas; designing and implementing new solutions.

    Applying knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance brand plansBuilding partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectivesSeeing ahead to future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies.

    Implementing plans consistent with the long-term interests of the organization in a changing environmentUsing own understanding of competitors' offerings, market drivers and innovation trends to create and/or seize business opportunitiesPrior responsibility for understand and reporting on brand financials & strong business acumenStrong Project management skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask against several complex projects at a timeWhats needed-

    Basic Qualifications:5+ years related experience in a merchandising/marketing/brand management position, preferably in own brand or private brand sector or CPG brand.

    Demonstrated experience integrating consumer/customer/category and industry trends to generate business insights to develop compelling strategic plansWhats needed- Preferred Qualifications:Bachelors or equivalent work experienceSeasoned brand manager with experience developing and managing multiple multimillion-dollar brands for B2B or B2C customers
