    Job Description Salary:
    $25 - $29.50 hourly

    We are currently accepting applications for immediate to May 2024 opening for a full time, entry level, Staff Geotechnical Engineer to be based at our Bangor, Maine office.

    This position involves coordinating, monitoring, and observing field exploration activities; observing, monitoring and collecting geotechnical data during construction phase activities at project sites; performing geotechnical analyses and calculations; writing reports, emails, proposals and other correspondence; collecting project data, information, and gathering documents; communicating effectively and consistently with teammates, design professionals and contractors.

    Other responsibilities include accurately tracking time spent on projects, safe operation and handling of company testing equipment and vehicles in accordance with company policies/safety policies, interacting with staff, general public, client representatives, officials, and contractors.

    The Geotechnical Engineer will begin to cultivate relationships and occasionally attend professional development and business and industry events. Will also occasionally assist our construction materials testing department, and have some involvement in trade organizations.

    Job Requirements

    B.S. Civil Engineering required by June 2024, with emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering, or Engineering Geology preferred.
    Hold, or obtain FE/EIT within 6 months after hire, required.
    Valid driver's license, active auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

    Experience with and knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office, SharePoint, MathCAD, geotechnical analysis programs, and able to learn new programs.

    Understand and apply developed math skills.
    Broad knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
    Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.
    Ability to make decisions and meet deadlines.

    Regularly spend long hours sitting/standing and in office and field environments which includes moving (carrying, pushing, lifting) soil, rock and construction material samples up to 60 pounds.

    Skilled in collecting, analyzing, and organizing complex data, compiling reports, and maintaining records of time and supplies.
