Job Summary
This requisition expires on February 15 ,2026 but may close earlier if the position is filled prior to the expiration date . The Electric Safety Specialist will promote , coordinate , and further safety and training in Denton Municipal Electric ( DME ) including implementing safety training , performing safety inspections , conducting hazard analyses , personal protective equipment tracking and testing ,
and conducting post-accident safety reviews . Essential Functions include assisting with the implementation of DME's
safety program including coordinating meetings ; conducting safety trainings ; perform post-accident review drug test per City of Denton policy schedule specialized vendors for new exiting highly technical equipment maintain PPE inventory prepare conduct routine departmental meetings convey information ensuring compliance Federal State Local laws regulations policies standards provide employee worksite practices track documentation completion perform audits vehicle tool layout inspections ensure compliance applicable laws rules regulations policies procedures summarize findings recommendations comply reduce loss conduct observations proper PPE appropriate use equipment policies followed defensive driving CPR AED First Aid confined spaces trench Lock Out Tag Out OSHA Hazcom GHS fire extinguisher respond emergency accident sites employee safe taken care administer post-accident drug test inspect gather investigate data prepare reports recommend changes improve future safely research recommend new PPE tooling equipmnet update internal stakeholders industry trends equipmnet maintain fleet testing data vehicle dielectric acoustic boom testing ppe tracking rubber gloves sleeves blankets hotsticks utilize approved system records tracking maintenance data Maintain accurate collection verification completeness compliance report stock levels leadership as appropriate assist data investigations inspections audits feedback determine trends systemic patterns.
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree accredited college university Safety Management Industrial Hygiene Occupational Health Safety Construction Management related field Three years experience safety occupational health related field OR combination education experience certifications licenses result candidate successfully perform essential functions.Job description
