    Idaho Transportation Department is hiring a Port-of
    • Entry Area Supervisor for our Port of Entry District 5 Office in Pocatello/Inkom.
    The Port-of
    • Entry Area Supervisor is responsible for supervising a diverse group of 12 14 employees.
    The successful applicant will foster a constructive culture and have a collaborative focus. Cross-training and empowering employees for success will be key focus areas. The goal of improving service delivery and timelines, and innovating practices to meet our customer needs is required.


    NOTE:
    This position requires a criminal background check before a final offer is made.

    Example of Duties + Hire, train, plan, and assign work, evaluate performance; + Implement goals, priorities, and schedules; + Draft, review, and recommend updates or additions to standards, policies and procedures; + Review or manage budgets, and collect fiscal data; + Interpret and ensure compliance with Driver related laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; + Evaluate needs, improve business processes, and ensure that training is provided for staff; + Perform related work activities as required.


    Minimum Qualifications:
    You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Please make sure your resume or work history supports your meeting the minimum qualifications for this position. Failure to do this may disqualify you from being considered for this position.


    Experience:
    + Supervising staff
    • Minimum requirement met by at least one 6 months of work experience with specific responsibility for hiring, performance evaluations, work assignment, discipline, termination, and other personnel management activities.
    Candidates may also qualify through completing upper-division college-level management coursework along with experience in a significant leadership role. + Analyzing, interpreting, and applying laws and regulations
    • Minimum requirement met by at least one year of experience where job responsibilities included interpretation of laws or regulations and explaining to customers how these laws or regulations are interpreted and applied.
    + Assessing work procedures and developing and implementing operating procedures
    • Minimum requirement met by at least 1 year of experience assessing work procedures and developing and implementing operating procedures.

    Experience:
    + Speaking before groups
    • At least 1 year of experience speaking before groups.
