    About the Role:

    As a Reporter for McCloskey by OPIS, you will work within an international team to provide commodities coverage of steel feedstocks raw materials such as iron ore, scrap, manganese, and steel. This is part of McCloskey's endeavor to price raw materials that are driving the green energy revolution. You will gather daily and weekly price updates and regular market intelligence updates on the US scrap markets. You will report to the Associate Director of Research and Analysis.

    You Will:
  • Research and report on new developments in the US scrap markets
  • Contribute to the research effort for the monthly scrap report
  • Accumulate spot market price transactions from industry
  • Verify the legitimacy of spot market prices transactions and adhere to OPIS pricing methodology to create weekly price assessments
  • Network with an extensive contact base and develop new business opportunities
  • Represent McCloskey in metals conferences/forums

    You Have:
  • At least 10 years' journalism experience which includes coverage of scrap markets and commodity reporting
  • Undergraduate degree in Journalism, English, Finance or Business
  • Conducted source development and market engagement
  • Familiarity with existing industry contacts
  • Experience with spreadsheets and commodity data analysis

    Pay Range: $65,000 - $200,000
