Position Summary:

The Pediatrics Injury Prevention Specialist is responsible for the implementation of injury prevention throughout Ebeid Children's Hospital (ECH), including the Kids in Safe Seats (KISS) program for child passenger safety.

They act as a resource to partner with community agencies and other ProMedica entities to develop community injury prevention and education initiatives.

Conducts research and evaluation studies on timely injury and trauma-related topics. Seeks program funding through grants, community donations, and in-kind donations.

Job Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Public Health or a related field; or a minimum of 2 years experience as a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician
• Must have or become a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician within 3 months of hire
• Must have reliable transportation to the entire service area and a clean driving record
• Prior experience working with children, caregivers and the public; experience in public speaking and conducting presentations
• Requires excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite, critical thinking and problem solving skills
