    Job Title: GENERAL STORE SUPERVISOR

    Department: General Store

    Reports To: General Store Manager

    Rate of Pay: $13.00/ Hour Plus 1% Commission on Sales

    Shift: Full Time Year Round, Variable AM & PM Shifts

    Must be available weekends & holidays

    SUMMARY

    Contribute to the organization, efficiency and leadership of the daily operations of the General Store to create positive shopping experiences for guests.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Provide leadership for scheduled shifts ensuring cleanliness, ample stock, and the highest level of guest service.

    Be the example of compliance with regard to store policies and procedures.

    Conduct daily training on product, policies/procedures, and sales techniques with staff.

    Document all training in the training tracker.

    Direct the work of staff for the shift to support business levels and cleanliness standard.

    Stock the store and maintain attractive displays.

    Update artist book and general information book for front counter.

    Display exceptional knowledge of products in the general store.

    Ensure accurate cash handling by the staff.

    Ensure accurate procedures on all transactions, e.g., discounts, gift certificates and gift cards, shipping, customer returns.

    Maintain the cleanliness of the store; including vacuuming carpets, dusting, sweeping, and taking out trash and recyclables.

    Reorder store supplies and shipping supplies.

    Assist with the hiring and scheduling of employees.

    Assist with yearly reviews and providing employees with positive and constructive feedback.

    Accurately report timekeeping records, and report accurate commission reports to Accounting Department in conjunction with payroll.

    Lead with quarterly inventory.

    Assist inventory supervisor with receiving, tagging, and stocking of new merchandise.

    Assist inventory supervisor with coding invoices for General Store manager's approval.

    Assist the manager and inventory supervisor with fulfillment of online/e-commerce orders.

    Pack and Ship online sales transactions to meet Sundance standards.

    Coordinate pick up through UPS/USPS/ or FedEx as established.

    Assist with receiving inventory and managing store room in the absence of the Inventory Supervisor.

    Attend to customer's needs and complaints, helping customers with merchandise, and answering any customer questions regarding merchandise or the resort.

    Share the Sundance story of land preservation and environmental commitment as the occasion arises.

    ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT

    Support and participate in environmental programs associated with position, for example: minimize waste, recycle, conserve energy, purchase and use sustainable products, educate co-workers/guests on environmental ethic, support vendors with similar environmental ethic, decrease pollution levels, minimize the use of toxic chemicals, restore wild life habitats, and carpool with co-workers to minimize carbon emissions. All employees are invited to participate in environmental or Sundance Preserve sponsored events.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Directly supervise up to 10 non-supervisory employees.

    Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Complete all applicable paperwork for the above responsibilities and submit to HR in a timely manner.

    DRESS CODE

    Sundance recognizes the impact that our image has on the guest's impression of the resort and the perception of our ability to provide professional service to our clientele. As representatives of Sundance all employees including mangers are expected to be in compliance with the Dress Code determined for his/her department as defined in the job description or follow the standards below.

    In order to best promote a positive, professional image that meets Sundance guest's expectations, employees are required to dress in a professional, conservative fashion that is appropriate for their area. Please use the following as a minimum standard:

    All aspects of the Personal Appearance policy (SPL#50) must be in compliance.

    Employees are required to wear nametags at all times while on duty.

    Clothing must be unwrinkled, clean, and in good condition (no rips, tears, or frays regardless of whether accidental or fashionably placed).

    Blue jeans are permitted.

    Men's shirts must be tucked in.

    Appropriate skirt length is from the knee to the ankle.

    A tailored fit is required of all clothing.

    Tank tops, halter tops tube tops, and spaghetti straps are prohibited.

    Sleeveless shirts are permitted for females.

    Bare midriffs are prohibited.

    Proper footwear for your department is required.

    Dress sandals are permitted for females.

    Flip flops are prohibited in all areas.

    Tennis shoes are prohibited unless there is a business need (ie: Mtn. Ops.)

    Fashion sneakers are allowed within department approved parameters.

    Oversize, slogan tee shirts are prohibited.

    Fashion shorts are allowed mid-thigh to knee, no short shorts or cut off jean shorts.

    As with clothing, all footwear must be in clean, good condition.

    No baseball hats.

    If your department allows t-shirts, they must be in good condition and have appropriate Sundance logos.

    If your department allows beanies, they must be in good condition and Sundance branded.

    Employees working in retail outlets may wear t-shirts and caps that are sold in their area if no uniform is provided.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one or more years related retail experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Supervisory experience preferred.

    TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS

    Must possess a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, internet navigation and electronic mail. Micros or POS system experience helpful.

    None required

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
