    Waste Connections Eastern Region Office located in Charlotte, NC has an opening for an HR Coordinator. In this position you will be a valuable part the Region Human Resources team.

    As the Region Human Resources Coordinator you will get to:

    • Contribute to various Human Resources related projects and processes, working with the Central Region Human Resources team.
    • Assist in the administration and support of HR Programs and policies.
    • Pull, run, and manage reports.
    • Assist in maintaining compliance with all applicable HR-related Local, State and Federal laws and reporting requirements (Poster requirements)
    • Track and respond to HR-related inquiries from employees and managers.
    • Participate in addressing and managing leaves of absence and employee relations issues.
    • Coordinate local meetings and training agendas and material.
    • Assist with developingpresentations as necessary in support of initiatives.
    • Lead and/or participate in team projects.
    • Support other ad hoc projects within the department as needed and requested.
    • Report to and work directly with the Human Resource Manager / HR Generalist
    • Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding company policies, procedures, programs and other people matters
    • Point of contact for all leaves, WC issues in the region - working closely with the HR generalist
    • Assist the HR team with acquisitions.
    • Other duties and responsibilities as needed.

    The Ideal Candidate will have:

    • 2 + years' experience supporting or involvement with HR related functions (e.g., payroll, recruiting, benefits; Leaves of absence, FMLA, STD, LTD, ADA, etc.)
    • Ability to handle sensitive subject matter with utmost integrity, discretion and confidentiality.
    • Excellent time management, planning and communication skills.
    • The ability to exercise initiative and work independently. We pride ourselves on being initiative-taking and directed
    • Strong Computer skills in MS Office such as Word, Outlook, Power Point, Excel and other web applications
    • Workday (or other similar HRIS) experience a plus
    • Occasional travel to sites within the region - 50%

    Education Requirements

    • High School degree required. College degree preferred.
    • PHR a plus
