About the role

We are pleased to announce that we are inviting expressions of interest for the role of Senior Manager - Commercial to lead the commercial team at Cyanco, Orica's most recent business acquisition.

This pivotal role will be responsible for driving Cyanco's cyanide sales, optimising margins, and fostering key customer relationships across the mining industry. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting Cyanco's continued growth under Orica ownership as well as shaping the future of our Mining Chemicals vertical.

The role will report directly to the Cyanco CEO, lead a team of about 10 business development and commercial professionals, and collaborate closely with the Orica Cyanide team. The role will be based in Orica's North American head office in Denver, USA.

What you will be doing

• Develop and execute commercial strategies to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
• Lead negotiations of complex contracts with key customers.
• Support the development and implementation of pricing strategies.
• Identify market trends and opportunities to enhance our cyanide offerings and competitive positioning.
• Develop strategies to optimise the profitability of the cyanide portfolio across Orica's global markets, linking with company Manufacturing, Distribution and Commercial plans.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including mining companies and industry associations (e.g., International Cyanide Management Institute).
• Utilise data-driven insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  
  What you will bring
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce, Engineering or similar (post-graduate highly regarded)
  • Role ideally suited to individuals with a minimum of 7 years' experience in a similar commercial or sales role.
  • Proven track record of success in commercial management roles within the mining or chemicals industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate market insights into actionable commercial strategies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Advanced problem solving and quantitative skills.
