The Department of Athletics development team is seeking candidates for the
Associate Director of Development
to support our annual fund, the Buck/Cardinal Club. The Associate Director of Development, reporting to the Associate Athletics Director of Development for Annual Giving, leads all direct appeal solicitations for the Buck/Cardinal Club and our 36 varsity sports and manages annual giving communications.

Housed within Stanford Athletics, the development team is a part of the Office of Development (OOD), which advances Stanford's mission by raising philanthropic support from alumni, parents, families, friends, and institutional funders. Working in concert with volunteers and university leaders, OOD staff members strive to accelerate Stanford's purposeful impact in the world. Stanford is committed to a donor-centric approach to development. In This Role You Will
- Lead and execute the direct appeal strategy for all annual fund solicitations, including the Buck/Cardinal Club and all 36 varsity sports.
- Manage all annual giving communications, including monthly Buck/Cardinal Club newsletters, benefit updates, and quarterly stewardship emails.
- Manage development updates for the athletics department annual report and football yearbook.
- Serve as the DAPER Development liaison with the OOD's marketing operations team.
- Serve as the DAPER Development liaison to the athletics external relations team.
- Develop fundraising strategies, and track and analyze results of development activities.
- In partnership with the data analyst, support the data needs of the annual giving team.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on overall results to internal and external constituencies, as needed.
- Serve as the DAPER Development liaison to select sport programs and club sports, as needed.
- Staff various events aimed to cultivate and steward DAPER's annual giving prospects (i.e., pregame hospitality events, donor receptions, etc.).
- Regularly attend home athletic events to serve as an ambassador of the Buck/Cardinal Club, to maintain sufficient knowledge of sports programs, and to increase visibility with donors, prospects, volunteers, coaches, student-athletes, and campus colleagues.

To be successful in this role, you will bring
- Bachelor's degree and three years of experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Skilled at articulating compelling cases for annual support.
- Ability to develop and initiate new strategies.
- Strong data analysis skills including organizing and analyzing.
- Adept at problem solving, creating contingency plans and handling emergencies when necessary.
- Demonstrated experience with fundraising in a higher education environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies and effectively develops relationships that enhance overall development goals.
- Demonstrated experience in marketing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a wide range of people.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage projects simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to set and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), InDesign, and Photoshop.
The expected pay range for this position is $106,359 to $120,320 per annum/hour. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of the

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs. At Stanford University, base pay represents only one aspect of the comprehensive rewards package.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, stand/walk, sit, use a telephone.
- Occasionally light/fine grasping, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds, writing by hand.
- Ability to drive day or night, if applicable.
