    This unique role combines:
    First response and sports injury patient care
    Risk analysis and mitigation
    Team development and leadership

    As the Woodward West Health and Safety Manager with a focus on risk and safety, you will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive health and safety programs and procedures.

    Your primary responsibility will be to identify and mitigate potential risks, injuries, and incidents, ensuring a safe and secure work environment for all team members and Woodward guests.


    This role also directly provides and assists with patient care in a high volume indoor & outdoor action sport facility.


    Must have, or be able to obtain, one or more of the following certifications: Certified Athletic Trainer (preferred), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC), or Registered Nurse.

    Proficiency in risk assessment and methodologies and tools.

    INNOVATIVE ENVIRONMENTS

    Risk Assessment and Mitigation :

    Conduct thorough risk assessments across all aspects of the Woodward operations, identifying potential hazards, and implementing effective risk mitigation strategies.


    Safety Compliance :
    Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, standards, and guidelines. Stay updated on changes in workplace laws, legislation, and industry best practices.

    DYNAMIC PROGRAMMING

    Safety Audits:
    Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, reporting findings and recommendations to Woodward senior leadership and Woodward General Managers.

    Emergency Response:
    Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, injury response plans, and medical directives.

    Safety Reporting:
    Prepare and maintain accurate records of safety data, incidents, injuries, and compliance reports.

    Incident Investigation:

    Lead investigations into workplace and guest accidents, incidents, and near misses, and develop corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.

    Safety Culture :
    Foster a culture of safety awareness and responsibility among all team members, encouraging active participation in safety initiatives.

    Safety Training:


    Develop and deliver training programs to educate Woodward team members on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and the proper use of safety equipment.


    Basic Requirements:
    Must have current CPR certification.
    Must have excellent guest service skills.
    Must have a valid driver's license.
    Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
    Must successfully complete a background check prior to employment.

    Physical Capabilities:
    bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
    Must have sight, speech, and hearing abilities sufficient to learn skills, follow and provide directions.
    Must be able to safely assess and negotiate all season terrain and action sports environments.
    Must have the ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
