Overview
Responsibilities include reviewing all commercial loans and mortgages originated by the Commercial Lending Division for compliance with Bank policy and state and federal regulations. As a senior member of the team, serves as a knowledgeable resource to the Post-Closing Review Specialists. Performs any function, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to customers and co-workers.
Responsibilities
- Review commercial loan packages to verify that all of the required documentation, both internal and external, has been received.
- Review moderate to most complex documentation to reflect accuracy of data and conformity to established procedures and policies. Ensure high levels of data integrity of critical customer and portfolio terms and conditions.
- Review all loans for approval by appropriate authority level. Review all notes, mortgages and/or other related documentation for adherence to compliance, accuracy of agreed upon terms and completeness.
- Review all loans for adherence to Bank credit policy relative to rate, term, collateral, etc., and identify Credit Policy Exceptions. Enter and track missing legal documentation on Document Tracking System and update system upon receipt. Create reports from the Document Tracking System to be sent to the branches, lenders and/or attorneys identifying missing or inaccurate legal documentation.
- Review notes and other legal documentation prior to closing for Attorneys, branches and lenders as requested.
- Follow-up with appropriate party (attorney, loan officer, branch, underwriting team, and/or customer) via written memo to the Attorney or customer identifying any issue(s) and how to take corrective action.
- Review and report all loans that are either HMDA, REG O or CRA reportable. Ensure accuracy of information reported.
- Perform pre-closing flood insurance review for all loans secured by property located within a SFHA, prior to management's authorization to proceed with loan closing.
- Work with insurance companies, customers, attorneys, lenders, and other vendors to ensure flood, UCC's and insurance tracking and monitoring is up to date and conforming to Federal and State regulations.
- Keep well informed of Bank policies, state and federal regulations. Attend relevant seminars and training programs. Make recommendations on procedures for post closing. Surface issues/problems to the Commercial Loan Operations Manager relating to regulatory, compliance, documentation, and efficiency areas so corrective action can be taken.
- Ensure effective and timely completion of special projects as assigned. Contribute to effective workflow with a team.
- Report all exceptions to the Commercial Loan Operations Manager.
- Assignment of loans to be post-closed in Commercial Loan Operations Manager's absence.
- Wire Authority – able to initiate and approve wire transfers.
- Perform related and unrelated duties as may be required.
Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, plus specialized training or course work is required, along with five or more years' experience in a related field. Must have a solid understanding of legal documentation and have experience with commercial loan products. Paralegal certificate is desirable. Must be very detail oriented, highly organized and customer service oriented. The ideal candidate must possess, in the minimum, intermediate technology skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications
Must possess attention to detail. Preferred experience with Commercial Loan legal documents.
Expected Pay Range
The expected annual pay range for this role is $55,243 to $91,158. This pay range is the annual salary we in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation paid may fluctuate higher or lower than the posted range and the range may be modified in the future due to several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, certifications, and qualifications, internal equity, adjustments to the requirements and responsibilities of the job, business needs, and economic and market data.
