Senior Systems Engineer - Saint Ann, United States - Leidos
Description
The Leidos Spatial Solutions team has an opening for an experienced Senior System Engineer with Linux system administration experience to work on an on-premise system with a mission operations team.
The team is involved in operation and sustainment of a mission-critical geospatial solution supporting DoD end users. A successful candidate will have experience with installation, configuration, administration, support and maintenance of an on-premise system.
The candidate will need to be a self-starter with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, flexibility, good judgment and the ability to coordinate multiple, concurrent tasks in an effective manner.
Primary Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities will involve taking a leadership role in system changes and improvements; working directly with government and contractor POCs to troubleshoot issues; proactively recommend configuration changes to help improve system performance; regularly work with government and contractor POCs to keep systems security compliant; and author and update operational and security documentation, including troubleshooting guides and SOPs.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires BS degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience; OR additional years of experience in lieu of degree
Must currently possess an active TS/SCI Clearance with ability to obtain & maintain a Polygraph post hire
Must meet DOD 8570 Certification (Security+ or equivalent or higher)
Must have Linux administration experience provisioning end users
Strong understanding of NGA Networking
Proficient reviewing and remediating STIG/IAVA scans
Experience performing Virtual Machine backups/snapshots
Experience working with Security to support ISCP exercises
Experience scripting for administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and automation
Knowledge of Systems, Architectural, SW Development and SW Sustainment Practices
Preferred Qualifications:
Red Hat certification(s)
Linux certification(s)
Agile Certification(s)
Experience using AWS/Cloud technologies
Experience implementing automation solutions to reduce engineering and/or end user labor time

Pay Range:
Pay Range $101, $183,300.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
