    Job Description –Full-charge Bookkeeper / Accountant
    Growing full-service real estate development and property management firm seeks an Accountant/ Full-charge Bookkeeper.
    Reporting to the principals, the

    Accountant/Bookkeeper

    assists in the financial management and operation of a diversified property management, real estate investment and development portfolio.

    He/she supports senior management and property managers by providing full cycle accounting and bookkeeping services including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, client and vendor management, collections and bank reconciliations, as well as weekly, monthly and year-end financial reporting.


    Detailed scope of work includes:


    Work closely with property managers to keep track of all routine and emergency repair and maintenance costs, generate verification reports of all invoiced amounts and payments, and other operational reports as needed on weekly, monthly and yearly basis.

    For company owned and operated portfolios – Process income and expense items on a timely basis for each building or project.

    Post mortgage payments, escrows, expenses, and income, maintain and reconcile debt service, principal and interest schedules.

    Produce detailed monthly financial reporting packages including Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Statements, Rent Rolls, Collection and Delinquency Reports, etc.

    For properties managed on behalf of owners - Manage new property owners' financial data during the on-boarding process. Track rental move-ins, advanced rents and security deposits held/disbursed during the transition periods.
    Monitor and track owner rent collections.

    Execute payments for mortgage, property tax, insurance premium, utility expenses, condominium dues, vendor invoices and all other owner-paid expense items.

    Establish reporting protocols for vendor work orders and invoices. Distribute net rental payments to owners either by check or via electronic transfer.
    Assist senior management in the preparation of annual budgets, income and expense projections and forecasts.

    Assist the outside CPA consultant in the distribution of all year-end tax related documents for individual owners, LLCs, and various other title holding entities.

    Process bi-weekly payroll for all salaried and hourly employees and contractors. Prepare and distribute annual W-2s and 1099s.

    General accounting for construction and development projects including working with project managers to oversee construction budgets, vendor payouts, and monitor actual versus estimated cost variances, etc.

    Reconcile 30 + monthly statements and allocation of all funds to each job/ work order.


    Qualification:
    Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
    3+ years of general

    accounting/bookkeeping

    experience required. Previous real estate and property accounting experience is desirable.
    Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
    Knowledge of or exposure to Appfolio, Rent Manager or other property management software desired.
    Must be self-motivated, a quick-learner and a team player
