    Default job background
    Description

Many of the world's top engineers and scientists come together in our Water business because they view a community's interaction with water a bit differently—as a single holistic system, rather than unconnected networks divided by jurisdictional boundaries.

Working throughout the hydrologic cycle, we are delivering sustainable solutions to make sure water is where it should be and available when needed.

Our experts guide our work with scientific rigor, an innovative spirit, and a vision for growth. Every day, we help communities improve, reuse, and protect this precious resource for future generations. By 2025 we're hiring 2,000 people (like you) to join our team. Grow with us, H2O+U.

We are hiring a Water/Wastewater Engineer-EIT to perform engineering work under supervision requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out a sequence of related water/wastewater engineering tasks such as the preparation of plans, designs, calculations, costs and bills of material in accordance with established codes, standards and drawings.

    Your Key Responsibilities

Use knowledge of general concepts of relevant engineering elements including the analysis and design of water supply, distribution and treatment systems, sewerage networks, and wastewater treatment systems.

Perform basic calculations to analyze and design water/wastewater system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
Assist team in preparing water/wastewater designs, drawings, specifications, presentations, and reports, and gather information to support design decisions.
Assist in basic interpretation and verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.

Work with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior engineer.

Assist the team in providing support services during construction that can include submittal reviews, responses to requests for information and contract document clarifications.

Perform field work related to construction and collection system monitoring activities as required.
    Qualifications
    Your Capabilities and Credentials
A well-developed understanding of concepts of relevant areas of water/wastewater treatment infrastructure design.
Excellent time management skills; thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting and efficient use of time and resources.
Ability to effectively discuss project issues with the project team and support the development of project solutions.
Proficiency in relevant discipline software programs and tools, such as BioWin, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and others.
Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, collaboration, and innovation.
Strong interpersonal skills for working in diverse team environments with staff, clients, and stakeholders, including working in remote/virtual settings.
    Education and Experience
Minimum Bachelor's degree in engineering with an emphasis on Civil Engineering or related field
    EIT Certification required.

Minimum two years of related work experience or, an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Position will work in both a field and office setting. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Must be available to travel for out-of-town projects when needed.
