Description

A local South Orange County electronics manufacturer is seeking an SMT Operator to join their growing team. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity with pay ranging from $20 to $25/hour, based on experience. This is a 2nd shift, 1:30 PM to 10 PM, with an opportunity for overtime. SMT Operator Responsibilities:

Set up machines:
screen printer, Pick & Place, and reflow ovenProcess control and operator level of preventative maintenance of the above equipmentPerform loading and unloading to and from machine independentlySet up feeder to machine per set upPerform the simple machine change overIdentify the basic SMT componentsSet up SMT parts to correct feederMake sure all process tools, stencils or fixtures are in house before starting the set-up processTouch up soldering and repair work of defects generated by the machineChecking machinery to ensure they are operated in a safe mannerAlert supervisory and maintenance colleagues regarding necessary equipment repairsEnsure assembled product meets compliance standardsWork closely with SMT process engineerOther various tasks as needed to support customer requirements and production scheduleSMT

Operator Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent2 years' experience with SMT and through-hole assemblyMinimum 2 years of hands-on experience as an SMT operatorPrior contract manufacturing experience is a plusElectronic SMT machine assembly experienceExperience with component packagesAbility to read set up listsKnowledge of electronic componentsKnowledge of machine operation of Tape and Reel and feeder loadingGood understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM) and Assembly DrawingsFluent with SMT Package sizes and component identificationComputer skills a must
