Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH) is looking for an Avionics/Electronic Systems Engineer 5 in Savannah, GA

Position Purpose:
Works on engineering projects containing critical problems, the solution of which requires major technological advances and extensive related developmentPrinciple Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
Responsible for an entire engineering project of major complexity within established scopeMakes technical decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive engineering activitiesApplies advanced technical principles, theories and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledgeLeads the development of innovative principles and ideasActs independently to determine improved methods and/or procedures to optimize technical product, cost and schedule requirementsWorks under consultative direction; uses independent judgment to accomplish objectivesDevelops standards and guides for diverse engineering activitiesConceives and plans investigation of broad areas of importance for which engineering precedents are lacking in areas critical to the programPerform other duties as assigned

Additional Functions:

Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company productPerform other duties as assigned.

As an ideal candidate to join the AVTECH team, you will meet the following:

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.13 yrs specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors.

Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.

Advanced degree in engineering related field preferred.

Preferred Skills:
Development, integration, test, troubleshooting electronic aircraft systems including but not limited to following:Aircraft Power Systems, Generation and DistributionAircraft Communication Systems, Radios and AudioIntegrated Avionics and Flight Deck SystemsAircraft Navigation and Control SystemsFunctional testing and troubleshooting experience at aircraft or system integration labMilitary, government or scientific research experienceExperience with DO-160, DO-178 and DO-254 processesExperience with requirements development, validation and verification (IBM DOORS or other requirements management tools)

Experience with managing supplier technical and deliverable tasks in an engineering/customer facing environmentRequired Unique Skills:

Avionics and/or Electronic Systems development and integration experienceExperience with FAA (14 CFR Part 25) or EASA (CS-25) certificationShift: FirstThe estimated pay rate for this position is $73.00 per hour.
