    Position Summary:

    The University Lecturer - Physics position is a 10-month temporary fulltime non-tenure track faculty position, starting in Fall 2023 (or possibly Spring 2024), with responsibilities starting in late August 2023. The successful candidate will have capabilities in teaching general [algebra-based] and university [calculus-based] Physics I, II, and III, and potentially [depending on interest]: Introduction to Astronomy, Earth in Space, and introductory Physics labs. The candidate will contribute and work closely with the Director of First-Year Physics. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Physics or a closely related field, and experience teaching college-level physics.


    Essential Functions:

    The successful candidate will be expected to:1) Teach freshman and sophomore physics courses.
    2) Work closely with the Director, First Year Physics.
    3) Participate in Department and University service through committees and workgroups as needed.


    Prerequisite Qualifications:

    - PhD in Physics or a closely related field.

    • At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
