Job DescriptionSHIPPING & RECEIVING SPECIALIST
Erie Forge and Steel, Inc. an industry leading manufacturer of large steel components for military applications (US Navy, Coast Guard) has an immediate opening for a Shipping & Receiving Specialist.
Qualified candidates should have prior experience in shipping/receiving, purchasing and negotiating contracts. Reading technical specs would be helpful but is not required.
Purchasing / receiving responsibilities include the ability to interpret and negotiate contracts with current and potential vendor. Also, source consumable materials for purchase and expedite as required for production manufacturing and building maintenance. Experience with creating and monitoring of purchase orders within our ERP system to ensure on time and correct deliveries is desired.
Shipping responsibilities require an individual that is highly organized and is detail oriented in their approach while interpreting and negotiating contracts with transportation companies. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in reading and interpreting DOD documentation to ensure all product is packaged and transported per DOD contract requirements. This candidate will also need to pass the required background check to be able to move product within DOD programs.
