- Pre-Camp Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with Executive Director to order first aid and medical supplies for use by summer camp
- Prepare Infirmary for opening of season, including inventory, bedding, food, etc.
- Review all camper and staff physical examinations and medical forms and make note of any special
- considerations on a master list of health concerns.
- Check with campers and parents/guardians about medical concerns, activity restrictions, medication, allergy
- information, etc. for campers.
- Attendance & Participation in sessions at Staff Orientation (to lead discussions on specific and non-specific
- medical needs of all campers and staff)
- Prepare and maintain first aid kits for various on-site locations and off campus trips.
- Supervision:
- Attend and participate in staff meetings to have ongoing discussions with staff about new campers' needs.
- Collect all medication that campers have and dispense at prescribed times.
- Carry out the Standing Orders as approved by physician annually.
- Dispense over-the-counter medications as appropriate
- Assess campers and staff who are ill or injured as to determine if further medical attention is needed.
- Contact parents of ill or injured campers and staff (if appropriate) and update them as necessary
- Documentation of all injuries and care rendered. This involves documentation of all over-the-counter
- Medicines, first aid treatment, communication with parents, doctors or any other off-camp facilities.
- Maintain proper cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance of all nursing equipment and facilities
- Close up infirmary at the end of camp season
- Administrative Duties:
- Update medical log and individual medical records daily
- Inform Executive Director and parents/guardians of any incidents or accidents that have occurred
- Report needed repairs in writing to Camp Ranger
- Maintain inventory of supplies
- Work with director and owners on recommendations for changes.
- Education/Experience:
- RN, NP/PNP, PA, MD, or EMT
- Previous experience working with children
- Ability to form positive relationships with campers, parents, colleagues & supervisor
- Certification:
- Current certificate in an acceptable first aid training program.
- Current certificate in an acceptable cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training program
- Camp season is June 23-August 17 with additional work up to a week before camp and a week after camp if desired.
- Adult weeks of camp operate Sunday-Friday and Child weeks operate approximately noon on Sunday to noon on
- Saturday.
- Salary starting at $1700/wk depending on experience and qualifications.

SUMMARY:The Health Director is responsible for overall supervision of health and sanitation of Kamp including maintaining
