    Senior Test Specialist - Automation Engineer

    Your objective is to provide our client, The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) Enterprise Solutions Development Division (ESDD) automated test cases for the myCalPERS system.

    The Senior Test Specialist will create a minimum of 10 automated test cases in Tosca each month during the 12-month period.

    Refactoring existing test cases, creating reusable libraries, or formal knowledge transfer sessions, as assigned by the contract manager, will count toward the workload of 10 automated test cases per month.

    Knowledge transfer will be provided by the contractor on an ongoing basis for the life of the contract,
    The contractor will perform all work offsite. This is a fully remote role.
    The Contract Manager will assign the test cases to be automated at the beginning of each month.

    The consultant will work closely with test automation engineers, business analysts, developers, solution architects and system testers to resolve any hurdles when creating automated test cases.

    The consultant will utilize ticketing and collaboration tools like Jira and Microsoft Teams.
    The consultant will submit a written status report to the Contract Manager on a weekly basis.

    Deliverable 2:
    The consultant will assist the automation team in refactoring existing Tosca test cases.

    The consultant will use knowledge of Tosca test automation practices to improve the quality of the myCalPERS regression suite, reducing complexity and improving the consistency of test results.

    The consultant will do this work as requested in a pair programming or workshop setting, to facilitate knowledge transfer and training of the CalPERS test automation team.

    This work will be assigned by the contract manager, and refactored test cases will count toward the expectation of a minimum of 10 automated test cases per month.


    Deliverable 3:
    The consultant will assist the automation team in creating and maintaining reusable Tosca test step libraries.

    The consultant will use Tricentis Tosca to create and maintain reusable test step libraries and contribute to the reusable automation framework that supports myCalPERS test cases.

    The consultant will do this work as requested in a pair programming or workshop setting, to facilitate knowledge transfer and training of the CalPERS test automation team.

    This work will be assigned by the contract manager, and test step libraries will count toward the expectation of a minimum of 10 automated test cases per month.

    The consultant will act as a test automation and Tosca subject matter expert.

    The consultant will provide knowledge transfer to team members on an ongoing basis through the end of the contract.

    The consultant will work closely with the Contract Manager as needed to ensure that the information is documented and placed in a file share for team members to access

    Experience working with public pension systems or experience with Governmental Retirement Benefits and Health Programs functions and processes like CalPERS.

    Experience with ticketing and collaboration tools like Jira and Microsoft Teams.
