    Job Description: L3Harris Technologies Inc. is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our team in supporting Technical Writing and Technical Training development activities for the Space Command and Control (C2) Mission Systems program, under the under the Maintenance of Space Situational Awareness Integrated Capabilities (MOSSAIC) contract.

    Essential Functions:

    The Technical Writing Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Develops operational and procedural technical writing documentation for hardware and software systems.
    • Develops briefing/presentation material and documentation for government/customer meetings.
    • Designs and develops training materials for space operators to accompany technical writing documentation.
    • Work as part of cross-functional team, made up of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), to accomplish technical writing assignments.
      • Interviews technical subject matter experts to obtain knowledge for documentation development and updates.
    • Manages validation and verification (V&V) activities of technical manuals.
    • Perform research using technical data and engineering specifications (drawings, A-level specifications, test procedures, etc.) or commercial sources to translate data into user documentation.

    Qualifications:

    • Active SECRET security clearance.
    • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

    • Experience with MDA and space C2 mission systems.
    • Proficient knowledge of Technical Writing tool suites (examples: Adobe FrameMaker, Illustrator, and Photoshop)
    • Experience with building training systems, such as video tutorials and computer-based training (CBT).
    • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
    • Experience with Magic Draw or other MBSE modeling tools.
    • Strong writing, editing, and proof-reading skills.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Independently interpret and follow written technical instructions and procedures, as well as the ability to work harmoniously in a team environment with government customers and other contractors.
    • Strong technical background, ability to translate technical and SME information into written procedural content as required for technical writing task assignments.

    In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $58,500-$108,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
