- Develop, oversee, and maintain budget, financial forecasting, internal controls, and reporting strategies.
- Analyze financial data, prepare accurate and timely reports, and keep management informed of the organization's financial status.
- Manage financial, project/program, and grants accounting, ensuring budget alignment throughout the grant/fund period.
- Forecast organizational cash flow, collaborate with program staff to assess financial efficacy, and establish finance and administrative systems to support program operations.
- Oversee audits, program reviews/audits, workers' compensation audits, and train accounting/administrative staff. Handle vendor and bank inquiries and assist with reports for development required by foundations and grants.
- Serve as a liaison between the HR consulting firm and administration, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
- Complete the annual insurance renewal application, providing accurate and timely information.
- Handle employee relations counseling, investigations, and incident reports, addressing concerns and promoting a positive work environment.
- Participate in administrative staff meetings, providing HR insights and updates, and maintain company organization charts and employee directory.
- Maintain master files for employees, contractors, volunteers, interns, and Title V workers, ensuring accurate and confidential records.
- Assist with the termination process, onboarding of interns, background checks, volunteers, and Title V workers, following established procedures and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Lead and manage the team, providing mentorship and upholding the core values of the agency. This involves guiding and inspiring team members, promoting a positive work culture, and fostering a sense of purpose and commitment.
- Ensure high standards of teamwork and customer service within the department. Encourage collaboration, effective communication, and a customer-centric approach in all interactions.
- Prepare timelines and allocate resources to achieve departmental goals. Develop clear objectives, establish priorities, and provide the necessary tools and support for the team to succeed.
- Oversee staff performance by setting performance expectations, conducting regular evaluations, and providing constructive feedback. Recognize achievements and identify areas for improvement, supporting professional development plans for individual team members
- Collaborate with other departments to achieve organizational objectives. Foster effective cross-departmental communication, coordinate efforts, and participate in management meetings to align strategies and contribute to overall organizational success.
- Handle staff-related issues and ensure a positive work environment. Address any conflicts or concerns promptly and fairly, while promoting a respectful and inclusive workplace. Provide guidance, counseling, and support to resolve issues and maintain employee well-being.
- Minimum undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline; a graduate degree in business or a related field is preferred. CPA and/or MBA qualifications are desirable.
- Five to ten years of progressive accounting and finance experience in a complex nonprofit organization with multiple programs
- Prior experience managing organizations or programs that receive government grant funding.
- Prior experience managing a finance team and overseeing human resources functions.
- Experience in coordinating audits, managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, investment accounting, and human resources administration.
- Experience in grants management, compliance, and reporting for government, corporate, and foundation grants.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to present key data to management and external partners.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director of Finance and Administration (Director) at St.
Barnabas Senior Services, reporting to the CEO/President, is responsible for overseeing all finance, accounting, and reporting activities, including a $5 million budget.
They prepare presentations for the board finance and audit committees, lead day-to-day finance operations, and supervise a team handling accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and grants administration.
The Director ensures effective program implementation, conducts audits, and explores how the finance function can support program operations. This position plays a crucial role in financial management, budgeting, reporting, team leadership, compliance, and strategic decision-making.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The salary range for this position is $125,000 – $150,000. This position is an in office position located in Los Angeles, CA
