- Designs and develops new systems, applications, and solutions for external customer's enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks.
- Ensures system security needs established and maintained for operations development, security requirements definition, security risk assessment, systems analysis, systems design, security test and evaluation, certification and accreditation, systems hardening, vulnerability testing and scanning, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning and provides analytical support for security policy development and analysis.
- Integrates new architectural features into existing infrastructures, designs cyber security architectural artifacts, provides architectural analysis of cyber security features and relates existing system to future needs and trends, embeds advanced forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction, provides engineering recommendations, and resolves integration and testing issues.

Project/Unit Description The Secure Information Systems (SIS) Division of the CIPHER Laboratory is seeking an individual to serve as a Systems Architect
This position will be responsible for system networking, architecture design, system administration, and application virtualization in a security sensitive environment
Job Purpose The Cyber Security Software Engineer designs, develops, and tests cybersecurity software in languages such as Java, C, and C++
The Cyber Security Software Engineer requires extensive knowledge of programming languages, software development, and computer operating systems in order to apply engineering principles to software creation
The necessary skill areas for the Cyber Security Software Engineer include programming and coding, fundamentals of computer science, design and architecture, algorithms and data structures, information analysis, debugging software, and testing software
The Cyber Security Software Engineer also creates novel cyber security technology components and software to ensure that critical systems and information are resilient to cyber exploits and attacks
The researcher also performs attendant vulnerability assessments, analysis, and software engineering and design
The Cyber Security Software Engineer also develops hardware and software prototypes, and tests those prototypes in realistic environments
