    SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTION ANSER is seeking an analyst who will support our team in the Acquisition Policy & Innovation (API) Directorate within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition and Sustainment) (OUSD(A&S))
    The successful candidate will be responsible for continuous analysis of congressional activities impacting API programs and policies, providing critical evaluations of bills, legislation, and report language that affect API equities, acquisition programs, and policies
    The analyst will track congressional bills, acts, hearings, and other activities, focusing on defense appropriations and authorization bills

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Assisting in the preparation of reports to Congress, the Government Accountability Office (GAO), and Inspector General (IG) offices by monitoring and updating tracking tools.
    • Providing timely summaries of congressional information from public sources such as Committee websites, Defense News, the Early Bird, Politico, and The Hill, and conferees, preparing comprehensive comparisons of legislation impacting defense acquisition, and tracking acquisition-related changes in proposed legislation.
    • Delivering weekly Legislative Updates summarizing congressional activities whenever Congress is in session, maintaining transcripts of Congressional hearings, and supporting API engagements with congressional staff.
    • In this position, you will lead our API team in navigating legislative challenges and advancing critical acquisition policies
    We are seeking an employee with a strong background in defense legislative analysis, who possesses effective communication skills and a desire to contribute to impactful defense policy initiatives
    This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on defense programs and policies at the highest levels of government
    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Advanced degree in a discipline relevant to the position plus 7 years of experience or equivalent
    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Required


    • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
    • Defense Executive-Level Legislative and Audit Experience
    • Able to effectively brief Flag Officers, General Officers, Senior Executive Service members
    • At least two years experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Explorer, Edge, SharePoint, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat Professional
    • At least two years experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Explorer, Edge, SharePoint, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat Professional
    Desired Skills


    • Experience with CATMS, CHARRTS, and GLADIS is highly desired Clearance
    • Top Secret with SCI eligibility
