    About Us

    We exist to support families with children receiving medical treatment. Our Ronald McDonald Houses and Family Rooms provide a 'home away from home' for families to stay together while their child is in the hospital.

    Our goal is to keep families close to the care and resources they need, reducing stress and saving them over $10 million annually on hotel and food costs.

    • In addition to our Houses and Family Rooms, we operate the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile program, which provides medical care to children in underserved areas.

    Job Summary

    The Family Services Coordinator plays a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation of our programs. This includes registering and checking out families, supervising housekeeping and maintenance, and overseeing related volunteer/donor projects and tasks.

    This position requires weekend and holiday shifts, typically 2-3, 24-hour shifts per month. Overnight shifts include sleeping onsite during assigned hours.

    Essential Job Functions

    1. Welcome and orient guests to the House, completing all check-in and check-out procedures and paperwork.
    2. Demonstrate a caring attitude toward families, volunteers, and donors.
    3. Act as liaison to hospitals for processing referrals/reservations.
    4. Explain/clarify program policies and procedures to guests and referring partners.
    5. Provide and assist families with information, directing them to resources, activities or services they may need.
    6. Perform regular rounds to maintain relationships with families and identify support and/or maintenance needs.
    7. Coordinate the overall daily strategy for use of available rooms, with intention of providing service to as many families as possible.
    8. Assist with statistics for program by inputting daily occupancy records.
    9. Ensure all common areas remain clean and supplies are stocked.
    10. Track guest donations and occupancy rates for monthly reporting purposes.

    Requirements

    • 2 years related work experience preferred
    • An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience will be considered

    Work Environment

    • Exposed to moderate noise levels
    • Frequent interruptions, ability to multitask is key to success in this role
    • Regular and predictable attendance is required
