    Description
    Are you experienced in overseeing comprehensive quality assurance and control activities related to customer hardware? Do you possess the expertise to promptly resolve both internally and externally identified product nonconformities in the short and long term?


    Centennial is currently seeking a skilled Quality Engineer with subsurface (submarine) experience to join a privately owned manufacturing company based in Cincinnati, Ohio.

    Our client seamlessly integrates into the teams within Aerospace and Defense customer base, specializing in addressing intricate fabrication, machining, and assembly challenges to deliver resilient manufacturing solutions for mission-critical programs.

    This role is integral to maintaining and improving the quality standards within the organization.

    This individual will establish and maintain effective communication channels with customers, including the formal submission of root cause investigations and countermeasure activities.

    Furthermore, they will actively monitor compliance with the existing quality system and collaborate with the quality team to develop and implement improvements.

    The position also entails providing support for projects and initiatives aimed at continually enhancing the value delivered to our customers.

    This person will report to Quality Manager or Quality Supervisor.


    RESPONSIBILITIES
    Direct responsibility for completion and accuracy of AS9102 compliant FAI's.
    Direct responsibility for compilation and accuracy of quality data packs.
    Direct responsibility coordinating and participating in EB/HII source inspections.
    Direct responsibility coordinating and participating in EB/HII quality related audits, preferably an ISA audit.
    Demonstratable history of coordination of, and participation in, successful completion of RCCA activities for internal quality nonconformances.
    Experience performing ISO/AS internal audits, and other types of internal audits (product audits, process audits, etc.).
    Strong working knowledge of AS9100, ideally with experience participating in AS9100 or ISO9001 audits.
    Attend pre-manufacturing meetings, searching for ways of preventing discrepancies and waste based upon historical knowledge
    Interface with Manufacturing Engineering, Project Management and Business Development to review contractual requirements and quality plans to prevent errors
    Investigate all customer Corrective Action Requests, Returned Material Authorizations and customer complaints in a timely manner to identify process failures and to establish effective Corrective Actions to prevent any re-occurrence
    Develop new approaches to solve problems and prevent errors as identified during quality assurance activities
    Participate in internal, customer and regulatory audits as needed
    Assume other responsibilities as needed


    QUALIFICATIONS
    Must be a US citizen
    High school diploma required
    Bachelor's or associate degree in a mechanical, industrial or quality related field preferred but may substitute a minimum of 5 years of defense manufacturing quality experience for the degree
    Training in Lean Enterprise tools
    Training/certification in ISO 9001, AS9100, TS 16949 or related international standard(s)

    5 years of experience as a QE on maned, sub-surface projects for EB and/or HII, or for Tier 1 suppliers to EB and/or HII.


    If experience is at a Tier 1 supplier:
    Significant experience interacting directly with the Quality teams at EB and/or HII.
    Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
    Strong understanding of GD&T principles
    Proven participation and success in the area of Lean, Six-Sigma and Continuous Improvement
    Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience in effectively providing appropriate feedback to engineering, source inspectors, management and customers
    Proven problem-solving skills, and ability to establish an effective course of action
    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress
    Proven ability to facilitate team activities, with an understanding of group dynamics
    Develops and maintains close working relationships with other quality team members, supervisors, management and all employees
    Demonstrates a highly cooperative demeanor with other employees, and willingly takes the initiative to help others be 100% successful
