    Description
    Job Title:

    Manufacturing Engineer

    Company Overview

If you are passionate about driving progress and initiating significant changes in how things operate, then you are a perfect fit for Ingersoll Rand. At Ingersoll Rand, we believe in tangible progress resulting from continuous improvements starting with you.

    Job Summary

We are seeking a Lean Manufacturing enthusiast with a strong interest in assembly. A professional who thrives on the shop floor and excels in optimizing assembly processes rather than dealing with complex machinery. If you enjoy hands-on work and being at the center of action, this role is ideal for you.

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Ingersoll Rand, you will be the key expert driving the implementation and enhancement of processes, cost reduction, and quality improvement. Your main goal will be to establish a robust foundation for developing, enhancing, and executing programs that minimize waste and elevate operational efficiency.

Bring your problem-solving skills to the forefront, confront challenges directly, gather insights, assess multiple options, and execute the most effective solutions. Your ability to navigate unexplored territories will propel us forward.

    Responsibilities
    • Recommend, evaluate, execute, and oversee multiple manufacturing projects of significant scale from start to finish.
    • Examine engineering blueprints, select suitable tooling, and generate programs for CNC machine tools while meeting quality and cost objectives.
    • Manage and decrease plant expenditures while implementing cost-effective manufacturing methods - bridging Product Engineering and Design Engineering requirements with existing capacities and capabilities to establish a cost-efficient operational process.
    • Act as the technical expert in initiating and enhancing processes related to Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
    • Assess and supervise existing and potential manufacturing processes, along with production capacities (capital suggestions).
    • Proficient in SAP including responsibility for standard hour and process router creation, and acting as the site's Engineering Change Notices (ECN's) coordinator.
    • Define the standard operating state and identify corrective actions for abnormal conditions.
    • Implement product and process modifications on the production floor to eliminate risks, enhance costs, meet production demands, optimize workstation design, material presentation, etc.
    Basic Qualifications
    • Demonstrated ability to approach unfamiliar problems or situations, gather information, evaluate, present multiple options, suggest and implement the best solution to address the issue.
    • Strong analytical skills to tackle challenges such as manufacturing issues and dimensional or calculation errors.
    • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles (Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, Poke-Yoke, Value Stream Mapping, etc.) and root cause analysis.
    • Advanced comprehension of machine tool operation and programming, coupled with a solid grasp of plant assembly processes and overall business operations.
    • Proficient in advanced blueprint reading including geometric tolerance and dimensioning.
    • Proven ability to work independently with minimal technical guidance, demonstrating sound judgment. Skilled in handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills as you will interact with internal stakeholders at all levels, suppliers, and customers, as well as external agencies, etc.
    • Proficiency in Computer Systems, Autocad, SAP, Office Software, and Project Management.
    Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
    • Position based on-site with occasional up to 10% travel
    • Requirement for US Citizen or lawful Permanent Resident
    • Daily activities may involve exposure to moving mechanical components, machining oils/coolants, and coolant/oil mists within permissible exposure levels set by OSHA.
    • Occasional exposure to elevated areas when using ladders or operating man-lifts.
    • Due to the manufacturing environment, noise levels can be high from various machinery operations, resulting in normal noise exposure ranging from 80-90 d BA.
    Key Competencies
    • Proficient in Lean Manufacturing principles such as Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, Poke-Yoke, Value Stream Mapping, and skilled in root cause analysis methods.
    • Proven track record of taking responsibility and propelling processes forward, as well as initiating and nurturing relationships with team members.
    • Capable of direct collaboration with team members on the shop floor, thriving in a hands-on setting.
    What We Offer
    • 401K (Matching up to 6%)
    • Medical, Dental, Vision plans
    • Paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave
    • Company-provided short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, and employee assistance programs
    • Ingersoll Rand stock options
