Diesel Mechanic perform repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles per company maintenance schedules and/or from driver vehicle inspection reports (DVIRs) in accordance with all rules, regulations and policies Diagnose and troubleshoot issues and make necessary repairs Complete adjustments repairs and component replacements to vehicles equipment related components Check fill change appropriate fluids filters Inspect repair overhaul vehicle support systems such as electrical air brake systems Perform roadside repairs when qualified for the type of vehicle operated Ensure all safety devices on vehicles are in good working order Professionally interact with internal external customers with good written verbal communication skills Maintain accurate records time maintenance orders parts usage on the computer/tablet Perform other duties as assigned The job requires experience using repair manuals wiring diagrams schematics troubleshooting or repairing vehicle component failure In-depth knowledge of truck components systems is preferred Experience repairing performing maintenance on heavy trucks diesel engines preferred The physical requirements include frequently lifting carrying pushing pulling a max of 35 lbs occasionally lifting carrying pushing pulling a max of 75 lbs rarely lifting carrying pushing pulling a max of 100 lbs continuously working outside in changing temperatures wet humid conditions continuously working in areas dust odors mist gases airborne matter continuously stooping kneeling crouching crawling frequently climbing balancing rarely sitting continuously standing walking
