    Job DescriptionThe Senior Consultant FSAS at NSF has the opportunity to join a successful and growing sustainability consulting group.

    You will develop and deliver on client engagements that generate life cycle assessments (LCAs) or apply life cycle science to help solve our clients' climate and circularity challenges.

    This role blends hands-on life cycle assessment modeling with thought leadership, expanding the team's capacity to answer unique LCA challenges within the Agriculture, Food & Beverage and Building Materials industries.

    This role will support our clients, acting as their partner and project manager on the journey to quantify and improve their climate and environmental impacts.

    LCA software may also be leveraged to model carbon or water footprints or inform the development of groundbreaking policies and industry standards.

    The ideal candidate will have experience generating Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and be able to contribute to a variety of other sustainability work in our core services, including but not limited to greenhouse gas emissions accounting and climate reporting.


    ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership:
    Work with clients and internal team to develop cutting edge modeling techniques to address unique challenges and/or industry-level needs

    Client Development:
    Identify, develop, and convert opportunities for new client engagements with NSF sustainability consulting services

    Project Design:
    Work with our internal team to ensure that proposals and projects are of high quality and efficiency

    Project Management:
    Ensure that client projects are maintained on-time and on-budget. Ability to work on multiple projects at once while keeping details and communications organized and updated is essential.


    Data Collection:
    Through questionnaires or other means, ensure that all relevant data is collected to successfully generate accurate LCAs

    LCA Modeling:
    Create LCA models to calculate clients' climate and other impacts. Quality checks on LCA models or work performed by the greater NSF team as relevant.


    EPD Generation:
    Developing Environmental Product Declarations resulting from LCA results

    Carbon Verification:
    Assist in quantification or verification related to carbon emissions and/or carbon credits

    Thought Leadership:
    Acting as a SME within NSF as well as representing NSF externally including but not limited to conferences, articles and white papers

    Information Presentation:
    Generate or create written reports and presentations to reflect key outcomes and insights from project work

    Client Relationships:
    Nurture client relationships through engaging and responsive communications, high-quality on-time deliverables, and professional demeanor

    Tools and Efficiencies:
    Contribute to improving unit profitability by building or improving tools and IP that deliver on consistent workstreams

    Internal Relationships and Systems:
    Participate in building a sense of team, accountability, and accomplishment by engaging in team meetings, updates, and/or cross-sector initiatives at NSF

    Other:
    Other duties may be required from time to time depending on our team's growth.
    QualificationsCandidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (i.e. Sustainability, Environmental Studies, etc.); Master of Sustainability or similar advanced degree preferred3-5 years of experience delivering LCA consulting servicesKnowledgeable about LCA considerations related to agriculture, food systems, chemicals, fossil fuels and/or electronics sectorsDemonstrated experience with GaBi or SimaPro LCA software use and results reportingFamiliarity with LCA and carbon related standards such as ISO 14040, 14044, 14064, and 14067Experienced with aspects of climate-related reporting, including CDP or TCFDAbility to distill large amounts of information into concise technical findings, using exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skillsProven experience simultaneously managing project workflows, multiple priorities, deadlines, and client relationshipsAble to recognize limitations in skills and ability to deliverSpeaks English at native or advanced levelActively models NSF core values including respect, ethics, integrity, creativity and excellenceProven ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a remote team environment across multiple seniority levels with minimal supervisionPreferred QualificationsClimate knowledge includes familiarity and skill with greenhouse gas inventory calculationsComfortable analyzing software systems and/or conversion factors driving greenhouse gas and/or life cycle assessment calculations or verificationsProven experience to identify and convert new client projectsEnjoys building new systems and tools to accelerate results, standardize approaches and ensure quality outputs

    Salary Range:
    $60, ,000 USDThe total pay range takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
